Here we go again. 281x is upset that Tia Clasen put them in their place. She did what 281x hates, open debate. 281x prefers to hide behind an anonymous blog.
At no point did the district hide that open enrollment was part of the plan with a new STEM school. In fact, if Todd ( nice job in your race for GOP chair at 3% btw) Ron, Andrew and Candace were actually in touch with the facts, the 281x folks would have been at the community meeting on the subject and voiced the concerns in a forum in which interaction would have happened oppose to the cowardly way 281x prefers, without debate.
I am also not sure where 281x gets the info that revenue won’t happen until year 14. I am assuming 281x is once again making up facts.
As far as 281 not allowing charter schools in, 281 have never done anything to stop one, 281 has simply refused to assist charter schools by selling property to them. Are you aware if a charter school in the 281 area, 281 must provide transportation if the students also live in 281?? Charter schools do not have the same unfunded mandates at ISD’s have. So when they playing field is equal, the topic should be discussed not now. However, if the playing field was equal, charter schools would cease to exist.
